Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Tuesday facing volatile trends as investors preferred to stay on the sideline a day ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision.

At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80537.3 down by -259.54 points or by -0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24379.25 down by -81.9 points or by -0.33 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 80981.58 and intraday low of 80518.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24509.65 and intraday low of 24373

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3104.75,+2.76%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1901.00,+1.91%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2362.25,+1.37%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2369.30,+0.88%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 12525.00,+0.49%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 8755.55,-1.98%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 235.80,-1.75%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1323.50,-1.73%), State Bank of India (Rs. 777.75,-1.55%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 835.05,-1.38%), among others.
