Indra partners with AXISCADES to strengthen production of Advanced Aerospace and Defense Systems in India

Indra has entered into a strategic agreement with Indian technology firm AXISCADES to jointly produce advanced solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Indra CEO Jos‚ Vicente de los Mozos and AXISCADES Chairman Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan during the Aerospace Show in Le Bourget. The signing took place in the presence of Indra Chairman Ángel Escribano and AXISCADES CEO & MD Alfonso Mart¡nez.

Under the partnership, the two companies will collaborate on manufacturing a range of Indra’s cutting-edge systems in India. These include Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), which provides critical in-flight navigation data to aircraft, and countermeasure systems designed to protect aircraft from missile threats such as MANPADS (man-portable air-defense systems).

This agreement reinforces Indra’s global footprint in aerospace technologies and strengthens its network of international partnerships. It also supports India’s defense manufacturing capabilities, building on Indra’s longstanding presence in the country. Over the years, Indra has supplied advanced systems to the Indian Armed Forces and contributed to the modernization of the country’s civil air traffic management infrastructure.

The two companies are also exploring joint opportunities in Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) airborne solutions and considering a dedicated partnership for DRDO CABS' MRMR (Medium Range Maritime Reconnaissance) and MMMA (Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft) programs.
