Electric Passenger Vehicle retail sales surge 56.87% in April: FADA

Retail sales of electric passenger vehicles (PVs) in India rose sharply by 56.87% in April 2025, reaching 12,233 units compared to 7,798 units in April 2024, according to data from the Federation of Automotive Dealers Associations (FADA).

Tata Motors retained its leadership in the segment with 4,436 units sold during the month. However, JSW MG Motor India and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) made significant gains, recording sales of 3,462 units and 2,979 units respectively.

For comparison, in April last year, Tata Motors sold 5,177 electric PVs, while JSW MG Motor India and M&M reported 1,268 and 668 units, respectively, highlighting the strong year-on-year growth for both emerging players.
